James is a product and policy advisor on climate risk and carbon mitigation (incl. CDR/CCUS) who supports the work of policymakers, scientists & engineers, corporate early movers, institutional investors, and project financiers. His expertise lies in the decarbonization of the energy and natural resource sector, mobility/transport, and heavy industry. As Head of the Foreign Representative Office of Germany’s largest state (Bavaria) in the U.S. and a senior investment & trade official, he has supported more than $3B in bilateral economic value creation between the E.U. and the U.S. His work has been featured in Inc. Magazine, Forbes, TechCrunch, CHIP, VC publications, and multinational firms like BMW.
His 12+ years of international experience includes digital product management, EV sharing/charging and energy storage pilots, strategic M&A/corporate development, climate & energy policy research at think tanks, and major renewables and transport infrastructure projects in EMEA, LATAM, and Central Asia.
James is a proud alumnus of Princeton University and the Technical University of Munich, holds a CFA Institute Certificate in ESG Investing, and is an IFRS Sustainability Accounting Credential candidate. He splits time between San Francisco and Munich and is U.S. Department of Justice Registered Foreign Agent (FARA Compliant).
